20 Things about ME

  1. I have never completed the NY Times crossword puzzle.

  2. I like living alone.

  3. I am a fan of old Film Noir movies.

  4. I have read the Bible, the Koran, the Torah, and the Book of Mormon.

  5. I am a card-carrying Capitalist.

  6. I never met a dozen home made cookies that I didn't like.

  7. My favorite actor is Humphrey Bogart.

  8. I never make plans for Sundays. The day belongs to me.

  9. I am a Red Cross blood donor. Over 5 gallons lifetime.

10. I don't like butterscotch, garbanzo beans, or tofu.

11. My favorite cake is a Watergate Cake, followed by German Chocolate.

12. I ride a 1400cc motorcycle.

13. I have lost 30 pounds so far this year.

14. Casablanca is my favorite movie.

15. I enjoy playing Chess.

16. I do not do drugs, steal, or drive drunk. Nor do I tolerate those who do.

17. I have few friends, and feel blessed to have them.

18. I sometimes have to force myself NOT to be anti-social.

19. I like to gamble. Blackjack, poker, and dog races are my favorites.

20. I used to own a 1967 Mustang. They are overrated.

10 Things I Believe

  1. A boy doesn't grow up to be a man;  he must learn to be a man.
  2. I believe that there is no such thing as a bad dog, only bad dog owners.
  3. I have learned that once your parents turn 60, it is usually pointless to disagree with them.
  4. It is true that 90% of all people behave like sheep.
  5. You always find missing items in the last place you look.
  6. The world has truly become smaller.
  7. For better health, quit eating anything that is white.
  8. A failure to plan is a plan for failure.
  9. No one will watch your money as well as you will.
10. A job is a temporary inconvenience that allows you to accumulate enough capital to do what you really want to do.
 

Today will have to be a "Work in the Yard" day. A nice breezy, 70 degrees. The Spinach is all picked and it's time to dig up some Turnips. I grow them mainly for the Greens. The first time I ate Turnip Greens was in Memphis Tennessee in the early 1980s. I am now a Soul Food lover.

This will be the first year in 15 years that I have never had to water the garden. It has rained sufficient amounts in a nice steady pattern.

The first day of my first blog entry. It took me an hour to figure out how to get this far. Hopefully I will create an informative and interesting place for anyone to wander by. My interests will be in Economics, Human Nature, Gardening, Cross Country Traveling, Cooking, and a little dose of everything else.
